proximity-announce is the PROXIMITY announcement list. Only
major project and other milestone announcements will be made on this
list (very low traffic). Posting rights are limited to KDL staff.
- PROXIMITY List
subscribe

proximity-list is the main PROXIMITY list (low
traffic). Questions, suggestions, and general technical discussion
should be made on this list. You must be a list subscriber to
post.
Mailing
List Questions
- How do I subscribe?
Send the line:
subscribe
list-name
as the body of a message to
majordomo@cs.umass.edu (or use the
convenient subscribe links above). The message body must be in plain text. You can also subscribe yourself at
a different e-mail address by including your e-mail address in the
subscribe command:
subscribe
list-name e-mail-address
- How do I unsubscribe?
Follow the above procedure, but using the unsubscribe
command. Do not send unsubscribe requests directly to the list.
- What posting guidelines should I follow?
Please follow basic rules of mailing-list
etiquette.
- What about spammers?
The list maintainers do their best to keep the lists spam free, and
the e-mail addresses of list members are only available to the list
maintainers.
- I'm not getting any mail anymore from a list. Is it down?
List volume is low and irregular, so the lack of mail is not a
reliable indicator of a problem. Please don't post a test message to
everyone asking if a list is down! If you want to check what lists
you are subscribed to, send the which command to majordomo@cs.umass.edu.
If you receive a reply and are on the desired lists, all is fine.
- What if I'm having problems with the lists?
Again, please don't bother everyone on a list. You can reach the list
administrators by e-mail at
list-name-approval@cs.umass.edu.
