I am Research Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Director of the 
Knowledge Discovery Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My research focuses on the statistical aspects and architecture of data mining systems and the evaluation of those systems for government and business applications. My recent work focuses on learning statistical models from relational data, and the application of such models to fraud detection, web mining, intelligence analysis, and understanding complex computational systems.
